YOU'VE GOT QUESTIONS?
Sweet! I've got answers!
Because I only work from myself and I work from home, my hours are flexible (I don't like TOO much structure.) That said, I usually reply to emails and work on design projects Monday - Friday between the hours of 8am and 8pm, with breaks for workouts, lunch with friends, or any errands I gotta do inbetween. 😉
I require a 50% non-refundable deposit to secure your spot in my schedule and before I begin any work. If you decide not to move forward, you will forfeit your deposit and position on my waitlist. If you choose not to make this deposit, you will not be placed on the waitlist until I receive your payment in full. Anyone else who makes a deposit or pays an invoice during the time you are waiting for your invoice and paying your invoice will be placed ahead of you.
I will email an invoice to you through my invoicing software, Freshbooks, where you will be able to make a secure payment online using a credit card.
Because of the digital nature of my work, I do not offer refunds. It is not possible to return one of my designs and insure that it won’t be used still. Payment is not only paying for your design elements, but for my time, energy, thoughts, advice and creative process as well, which begins almost immediately. Please make sure you want to move forward before paying your invoice.
I design all blogs and websites on a self-hosted WordPress platform.
WordPress offers two different kinds of website platforms:
- WordPress.com - Their free platform similar to Blogspot/Blogger. WordPress.com websites cannot be custom designed because they are limited with what we can and can’t change. You can purchase your own domain (.com vs .wordpress.com) with these sites, but that still does not make you self-hosted.
- WordPress.org - This is free, open-source software and is what is known as self-hosted. What this means is that you’ve purchased hosting (BlueHost, GoDaddy, etc.) and pay somewhere between $50-$100/year to keep your site hosted. You also have your own domain name (ex: yourbusinessname.com), have downloaded the WordPress software and have installed it onto your site, usually through your host. If you need help with this, I can help you configure these two with any of my website services.
Since I only take on a limited amount of projects at a time, I have created a waitlist. Please check that first to make sure I can accommodate you! Once your deposit is paid and you have secured your spot in my schedule, I will send you a website checklist of everything I'll need from you before I start designing anything.
Once your start date comes and the design process begins, you can expect a mockup of your your blog or website to be completed within the first day or two. Once you approve the mockup, I'll begin coding everything out on WordPress, which generally takes 3-5 business days for a smaller, simpler site. If your site is bigger, has a lot more features, has an SEO package built in, etc., it could take 5-10 business days. Once I present the site to you, we will go through up to 2 revision rounds of revisions in order to get it perfect before it goes live. The final balance will also be due before launching your site.
It's important to understand that a big part of how quickly your website is completed depends on your own availability and responsiveness. Clear, concise communication and feedback will help make the process much quicker!
